TeenOpps Tutoring

TeenOpps offers a Summer Math Skills Sharpener Program for students in 3rd-8th grades. In this program, high school teens with demonstrated academic excellence in mathematics are available to help younger students review math concepts learned during the previous school year. This program is open to students from all districts. One-on-one instruction. Learn more about some of our tutors here.

Math Review Resources

What topics will our tutors review with your child? Parents have two options:

  • Parents can purchase (through our organization or on their own) an age-appropriate Summer Math Skills Sharpener Book published by Tri-C Publications for use during their tutoring sessions. Summer Skills books are widely used by parents and schools to maintain student academic skills over the summer. Each book costs $20. Parents can find out more information about this series at Summer Skills, or
  • Parents can identify a topic(s) that they would like our tutors to focus on during tutoring sessions (See list of potential topics). TeenOpps will provide age appropriate instructional materials related to the selected topic(s).
  • Please note that our tutors will not administer assessments to identify topics that need strengthening nor will they teach brand new concepts that have not been previously introduced to students. What our service will provide is a safe, supportive environment where younger students can practice and deepen their understanding of previously introduced math content, in the company of truly exceptional young adult role models.
